House of Usher
Besides the one scene of freddy with the long arms, Elm St was really seen much was it? |

Really tough call, but I think I'll go with The Castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter.

Poelzig's House - the modern design fit the edgy chess playing mode of the film.
|
Poelzig's house design is a well known landmark in set design, and it really adds a lot to the film, which is one of my favorites, but as some have already mentioned, Hill House was integral to the film, a real presence, so I have to vote for it.
|
Hill House - 7 (metternich1815, _____V_____, Straker, hammerfan, The Villain, totem & neverending)
The Orphanage - 2 (The Bloofer Lady & Zero) Poelzig's House- 2 (MichaelMyers & Sculpt) The Metropol Movie Theater - 1 (Fearonsarms) Hill House scores another pretty convincing win & proudly moves into the Quarterfinals. |

The Black Lagoon - so creepy and atmospheric.
|
Skull Island.
Landmark settings and set pieces for a landmark film. |
skull island
|
The Black Lagoon.
The movie and the creature wouldn't be the same without it. Creepy yet beautiful, serene yet dangerous and a perfect mysterious place for a monster to rise from. |
Torn between them all but i go for Skull Island,
|
The Black Lagoon.
|
The Black Lagoon - 3
Skull Island - 3 Frankenstein's Castle (Hammer) - 0 Cubical Rooms - 0 Black Lagoon & Skull Island are neck & neck in the competition in this amazing match of round 2. Though there are 4 more matches left in this round, but just to give you all an idea about the madness of matches we're moving towards...I'm going to release the fixtures of upcoming rounds (Quarterfinals & Semifinals) after this match. Till then, keep voting.::cool:: |

Skull Island - to be fair it really was a toss up with Black Lagoon (Julie Adams had the best legs - hee hee) but nothing terrified me like Kong shaking those men off that tree.
|
The Black Lagoon.... Tough choice.

ROUND 2: MATCH 9 Haddonfield, Illinois, HALLOWEEN (1978) http://i346.photobucket.com/albums/p...psbf30deb9.jpg Vs Silent Hill, SILENT HILL (2006) http://i346.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps3ebe9d24.jpg Vs The Sideshow, FREAKS (1932) http://i346.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps1c13b94d.jpg Vs The Evil Dead Cabin, THE EVIL DEAD (1981) http://i346.photobucket.com/albums/p...pse4a2fa18.jpg |
The Evil Dead Cabin. I have to go with this one because it is a classic that has literally become a horror movie cliche because of this film. It was also an effectively creepy/eerie setting in the original film. Haddonfield was certainly close, in my opinion though.
