I am a great fan of both Kill Bill segments, and I can safely say that yes, that statement made previously is very, very true... in some sense.
Kill Bill, while being violent and bloody, did not cross the line of "safe" violence, in my opinion. It was all safe. Sure, there was excessive amounts of blood, deaths, and killing - but they were done aesthetically, and in a mood to suggest enjoyment rather then fear. When watching it you do not think "Jesus... fucking... christ." with your mouth open. You do not find it controversial. You do not turn it off because it's too hard to handle. It's safe, because it's unrealistic, and it's stylish. I would not even hesitate to let a kid around the age of 10 see this, as it's nothing too shocking. On the other hand, we have Running Scared. While it may have slightly LESS gore, it does - in mood comparison - make Kill Bill look like Sesame Street. This is due to the nature of the film. Gritty, dark, realistic, and daring. It goes far and beyond with what it shows, and you might even begin to ask yourself "Should they be showing this?". I cannot state this more - The scene with the child-captors is one of the most shocking scenes in recent memory. Because it can happen, they were daring enough to put that in the film. The controversy of having a child witnessing all this, and going through all of this in one night is what makes it set apart from Kill Bill. In the end, the mood does it. |
The Hole 7/10
EH? |
What's the "EH?" for? :D
The Hole I saw a while back, and loved it. Again, for me it was the mood and the accents added to it. I don't know why. Thought it was good, liked all the characters, liked the entire plot to be honest. Not sure why Kiera is ashamed of it, it's good! |
The Fly II:
I finally managed to stay awke for it this time. I seemed to have the knack of putting it on when I'm too tired and ended up narking out half way thru it. Nowhere near as good as its predecesor but still a pretty cool flick that I really enjoyed, it just missed the darkness the Cronenberg original had. But as far as sequels go it was decent. |

Munich - 8.5/10
Very good film, I wasn't aware of what all went on at the Munich Olympics as I was a wee little lad. It was a sad and depressing movie. It was realistic, and gritty. It approaches the subject of killing someone realistically. When you take a life, you have to deal with the consequences, physically, and mentally. I have also been watching the Ninja Scroll: TV series DVD's. I have only seen the first two discs in the series, and I am happy with it. While it is not as good as the original movie, it is far better than the sequel movie, Ninja Resurrection. The character of Jubei is the same that was in the original Ninja Scroll. So far so good. |

If you enjoy Labyrinth, you need to see this movie! If you're a Neil Gaiman fan, you need to see this movie! If you're a Dave McKean, Henson Studios or fantasy fan in general, SEE THIS DAMN MOVIE! 9/10 Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Wow. Square Enix sure can make some damn fine animation. This gorgeously animated movie is something every FFVII fan should see. If you're not a fan, there's enough at the beginning to keep you informed to what's going on for the first 30mins of the movie. After that, you'll probably be lost. They tried a little too hard to squeeze in a plethora of characters into the film. If you're a FFVII fan, this movie is an 8/10 If not, you should still give it a view just to see the visuals and kick ass fight scenes, but you'll be lost after about 1/2hour in, so 5/10 |
Night, Dawn and Day of the Dead(originals).

The Omen (2006)
2/10 - Very bad, all that is getting the 2 for was the "so bad its good factor" because some death scenes were just so bad I loved them. Kill Bill Volumes 1 and 2 (Back to Back) ---9/10 It is really amazing watching these two films back to back with no bathroom breaks in between, some beer, some cigarettes, and some food. :) |

Was the music any good? That's one thing most religious/satanic movies have going for 'em good or bad. |
As I recall, It was medicore. I mean the music throughout is barely noticable from my point of view. The "scary/intense" scenes music was a bit more noticable and better but there really wasn't much that made me say, hey that score was really well done.

Ms. Congeniality
7/10 Very funny IMO, I really enjoyed this. Sandra Bullock is friggin hott too. |
Minority Report - How many times have I seen this? 7... 8? Even right afterwards, I'd watch it again. Probably one of the best futiristic settings I have seen - definite thought put in to this. The bit thing that stood out was the advertisment and greeting screens. They might even show up in our future - I can see it happening.
I first walked in to it not knowing who the director was. I was skeptical, but after the first 15 minutes - that all changed. It's quite enthralling, and the ending is certainly not dissapointing. The precogs rock, and the acting is top notch. Colin seemed a little out of place, though. |

The Omen (2006, horror)
Can't hold a candle to the original but still pretty good, I'd say a 7/10 I just thought that the movie felt very rushed, and the acting was less than perfect. |

Terrible movie. Quite possibly one of the worst horror movies EVER. Don't let it put you off Exorcist III tho it pure gold! I last watched: PUMPKINHEAD: Pretty cool flick, I hadn't seen it since 1990 or some such shit. Needed more gore I thought. I thought it was average till the great ending saved it. Lance Henriksen was great as usual. THEATRE OF BLOOD: I dug it. Basically Dr Phibes all over again but a bit more pyschopathic and nasty minded. Great campy fun. Gonna have to check out some more of Mr Price's flicks (If I can find them seperatley I hate those ugly assed bundled 3 movies on one DVD deals - but I might just have to bite the bullet - hell its only $5 for The House on Haunted Hill/The Bat..... and one I don't remember). |
