|
Mainly playing through "The Saboteur".
I like it. Bit stealthy for ME though they seem to give you a bit more choice on how to tackle missions further into the game. It's honestly a very well made game I have to give it that...comes across as very authentic, it's quite atmospheric and actually has a GOOD storyline, and some great dialogue. Visuals are pretty brilliant, even on my non-HD tv. |
Just starting out on Far Cry (PC).
|
Have you played that before?
If not I'd say you're in for a treat, it was one of the best FPS games I'd played in ages when I first checked it out, I'm pretty sure it would hold up today, in fact I've been meaning to try play it again. |

I got Far Cry in one of those cheap double packs for $10 along with Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon. But yeh it's killer (considering I'd only really played old shit like Doom haha) and I'm slowly getting the hang of it. |
I LOVE sniping guys in that game...crawl into some grass, take 'em out at a distance, then run away from the area, shoot more as they investigate.
I actually quite liked the enemy soldiers, but yeah - it's pretty different than stuff like doom and the first couple of quakes, duke nukem and the like, but I really thought they pulled off a pretty decent storyline (which I won't spoil). |
Just wanna say - Continuing to play through The Saboteur.
GREAT game actually...really enjoying it, gets better as you go along, had some HUUUUGE fights. |
I have been playing Mafia II - completed it and now playing the DLC - Jimmy's Vendetta.
Also playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Currently level 21. |
Real keen to check out Mafia II when I can afford to pick it up.

... Just downloaded Limbo last night... And my GOD is it addicting... Gorgeous too. Like a darker, more palatable Little Big Planet. |

Firstly, although it looks like an open world "sandbox" game, like GTA IV etc, it really isn't. It is in fact very linear. Sure, you can drive/walk around the city, but there is virtually nothing to do. Rob some shops, steal a car, kill some bystanders and get into police chases. That is about it. Really, it is meant to be played through in a linear, mission based way. Secondly, it is quite short. Maybe 10 hours or less on the hardest difficulty? You spend a lot of that time driving around. You often have a long drive to a mission, sometimes a short drive between sites, and then another long drive home. There is more driving than shoot outs. Jimmy's Vendetta DLC adds quite a bit more play time, but they sting you another $13 USD for that. It also requires a pretty beefy system if you want to play it on maximum settings on the PC. I did enjoy the game - I liked the storyline which was very much a compendium of Mafia movie cliches. But I think it is probably not what everyone expects when they play it. |

Haven't played the first one and only been playing this one for a couple of hours. A little disappointed tho. Thought it was going to be a Gladiator vs. Resident Evil kind of game. But it's just your usual zombie survival story. And not a very good story so far. But the gameplay seems alright at least. |

But I've been playing Dead Rising 2, Halo Reach, and Rouge Warrior. Chrono I've been thinking about getting Limbo for awhile now.Can you tell me a little more about it? |

Sure, the weapons are fun. But the game is quite repetitive. It's pretty much the same you do again and again. Out rescuing survivors in the city. And in between is the story. Sure, you can explore, but there's always the time limit, which sucks. And also, the way you fight the zombies reminds me of God Of War and old Amiga Beat-em-up games such as Double Dragon. No creepy atmosphere, just kick ass action. Satisfying to some, disappointing to me. |
Just finished "The Saboteur" (Seriously, play it motherfuckers)
Right now, when I'm not playing 2p on the Megadrive collection, I've been checking out Saints Row 2. Yknow, I wish GTA would take a page here and consider making some actual sequels - it's worked really well in this case. I'm enjoying it thus far and it's got a GREAT soundtrack. Still a bit arcadey in terms of driving and shooting but very fun, and the explosions look phenomenal. Cool how the storyline just continues, I look forward to seeing some familiar faces from the first. |
Medal of Honor
The single player is alright I guess.Nothing really new about it.But the multiplayer is just god awful. It's very laggy and all people do is camp and snipe.Every map is made to snipe from one side to the other. |

I'm loving Liberty City Stories right now and haven't even started the Gay Tony part. |

I WAS playing saints row 2, until my dog ate it...good thing it was only a copied disk, but still...seriously? Pisses me off. Guess I'll be playing shattered dimensions next. |

DJ Hero
Halo Reach and The Saboteur Target had DJ Hero for $29.99 (with turntable) and Saboteur for $13.98 so I had to grab em. Been playing those few lately. |
Dantes Inferno
There is a game called Dantes inferno for the playstation 3 and xbox 360, It isnt technically considered a "Horror" video game like Silent Hill or anything like that but it is based on a Condemned Man who goes threw the 7 layers of Hell in pursuit of his Wife who was also Condemned because of Dantes adultery with another woman, She wagered her soul to Lucifer that he would stay faithful until the day they both seize to exist, and He failed. It is a pretty long game, its single player and I enjoyed it very much. It is sort of like Devil may cry and God of war, Meaning you run around and kill everything you see. Collecting Souls , Either Condemning them or Absorbing them, Dark or light. Each gives souls to purchase New Attack moves and Magic abilities. If anyone who reads this has a newer game system and Like Dark games, Which if your on this site, Im guessing you do. Lol. I suggest you go to a Game store and buy it used. Should be around 30 to 40 $ most def' worth it in my opinion... Ty 4 reading my post on Dantes Inferno.

I've been playing "Spider-Man - Shattered Dimeonsions", and I have to say, this is the best Spider-Man game I've EVER played...the only other one I've really liked was the first one on Playstation/Dreamcast and have felt the rest of them just seemed like clones since (that said I've yet to play web of shadows, that looks great too). Perfect combat/web swinging/zip-lining system, including a first person brawling system that comes into play too...that actually doesn't suck... Decent dialogue (with every Spider-Man been played by a former cartoon incarnation of the character) and voice acting, and a relatively compelling storyline. My only criticism really is that the Spider-Man 2099 levels seem a little lacking, because of effort to make them different...it's interesting all the same. REALLY well done game with some fucking epic boss fights. Fans of the character or the games ought to give this one a look, IMO it's the definitive Spider-Man gaming experience. Quote:

Just loaded up Call of Duty: World At War and I am really looking forward to it, after reading some of the glowing reviews it has got. This is my first CoD game so...what can I expect?
Just played the first few minutes and it looks good so far. Hope there are individual missions ahead. I read someplace that a mission involving zombies is also available. Download, unlock or Easter egg? |
Your first COD game?
Expect something very intense and an almost shellshock type feeling when you put it down...WAW is one of my favourites thus far, if not the best IMO. Very cinematic, some CRAZY firefights, and quite creepy in parts too. You unlock the zombie bit upon completion...I haven't played any of the downloadable content ones (there's 3 more) but in all honesty the first one, was a bit boring, just surviving while hordes come at you...no open world going on at all. Overall though, REALLY good game. I'm back to saints row 2, borrowed a copy from a friend. I just finished Spider-Man shattered dimensions, and wow, easily the best spider-man game EVER - I highly recommend this to ANYONE. |
Sounds delicious. Thanks for the heads up, Cheebs!

The unlockable Nazi Zombies is awesome. The downloadable maps are a bit bigger but your still confined to areas. I enjoy the hell out of playing it online. |
"Red dead redemption - undead nighmare"
Hmmm... not a very good intro. Minimal build-up. Seems like Rock Stars mission with Nightmare is to have all the characters from the first game either killed or turned into zombies. So far i'm not really loving it. |
Just beat Dead Rising 2.Didn't really care for the ending.Just didn't make much sense to me.
